There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. A pleasant nearby hotel is Best Western River's Edge, and perfect skiing awaits you at Red River. This lake is so wonderful. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Star Lake. Camping is available at Twining Campground; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Burnt       Ridge Trail. While you're here at Star Lake you can take a hike along the Lost Lake Trail, and the peak of Larkspur Peak can be seen from Star Lake. High temperatures at Star Lake through the summer are in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows at Star Lake through the winter commonly sink into the 0's. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo                  Mountains, not enough time. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Angel Fire, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Twining Blue Lake Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is in the vicinity; if you came for an overnight stay Italianos Campground is a splendid site to camp. Star Lake is a location that is pretty waterless typically; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
