Ponderosa Park is a splendid local campground, and Holiday Inn Express Artesia, Nm is a glorious place to get some rest. At Spring Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 90's, and the night is rather cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Spring Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Carlsbad-Artesia       come to Spring Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Artesia RV Park is a brilliant location to camp. Around Spring Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and March meanwhile is the driest month.
