At Smith Waterhole during the summer months highs are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Smith Waterhole fall into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a wonderful little trip to Crooked       Creek; hiking is a popular thing to do around Smith Waterhole; Double Trail is a good local trail. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Smith Waterhole. During your tour to Smith Waterhole you'll meet some folks from Carlsbad-Artesia for sure, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Carlsbad is a perfect place to spend a night or two.
