     Through the warmest time of the year at Skid Camp Pond highs are usually in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Skid Camp Pond are in the 0's. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Looking for something right next door to Skid Camp Pond? Phones Pond is nearby, and if you came to camp Buzzard Park Campground is a great site  
   to do that.
This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You're perhaps addicted to lakes, John Mills Lake is one of those close by; if you need a location to stay Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Navajo River is so much fun, and Keyah Grande Resort is a good place to get some rest.
Skid Camp Pond is pretty dried up generally; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June.
