This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Why not camp at Dukes RV Park since you're here at Shufeldt Lake, and there's splendid hiking along the Gascon Trail. But wait, there's more to do near Shufeldt Lake. Camping is available       at Pendaries RV Resort, and nice water scenery is available at La Cueva Dam Number One in the vicinity of Shufeldt Lake. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Fort Union National Monument is a very tremendous spot to go to near Shufeldt Lake, and if you're here why not take a look at Canon del Agua. For the duration of the days of summer at Shufeldt Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in                  temperatures sink down into the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while Shufeldt Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Mora Inn & Rv Park, and getting to La Canada del Guajalote from Shufeldt Lake is trouble-free. Angel Fire has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff, and the Santa Fe Trail offers hiking at its best. Shufeldt Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during July, and the driest month is January.
