Be careful coming to Shufeldt Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Best Western Montezuma Inn & Suites is a great place to get some rest, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to make out at La Cueva Dam Number One in the vicinity of Shufeldt Lake. Canon del Agua is a nice site to explore; there are great places to discover along the Gascon Trail. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains       scenery is always beautiful. Shufeldt Lake is generally a rather dried out location; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the summer here at Shufeldt Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Shufeldt Lake. This lake is so                  wonderful. If you haven’t been to Fort Union National Monument, you should schedule some time for it if you're here, and a lake nearby is La Cueva Lake. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has to offer. Stay the night at Pendaries RV Resort, and there's some flowing water nearby, La Canada del Guajalote is a stream you can have a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Trails End RV Park is a nice campground nearby, as expected you could also pop by La Cueva Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. Having a pleasant time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains is uncomplicated.
