    Serpent Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. Jicarita Peak is clearly visible from Serpent Lake; dry warm beds await you at Taos Super 8 Motel. There's great hiking along the West Fork Angostura Trail, and why not head up to Sipapu Ski and strap some skis to your feet. You absolutely ought to like the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Taos - Days Inn is a splendid spot to get some rest, and don't leave Serpent  
   Lake without first going for a hike along the Divide Trail.
Man, is there lots of exciting stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. You could also explore Horseshoe Lake since you're here at Serpent Lake; it's nearby. Serpent Lake is pretty dried up frequently; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month is February. Summertime highs at Serpent Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime
 
               are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Serpent Lake are in the 0's.
But wait, there's more to do right next door to Serpent Lake. Good hiking is available along the Santa Barbara Angostura Trail, and you can stay the night at Santa Barbara Campground. Serpent Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Serpent Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Agua Piedra Campground is a good location to camp nearby; if you've had enough of Serpent Lake, North Fork Lake is close by.
