Serpent Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. Jicarita Peak is clearly visible from Serpent Lake; dry warm beds await you at Taos Super 8 Motel. There's great hiking along the West Fork Angostura Trail, and why not head up to Sipapu Ski and strap some skis to your feet. You absolutely ought to like the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Taos - Days Inn is a splendid spot to get some rest, and don't leave Serpent

You could also explore Horseshoe Lake since you're here at Serpent Lake; it's nearby. Serpent Lake is pretty dried up frequently; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month is February.
