Don't leave Sawmill Pond without first going for a hike along the Sawmill Camp Trail; going for a hike on the Leslie Spring Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Escondido Trail, and why not camp at Quemado Lake Campground while you're here at Sawmill Pond. Just can't get enough of the San Francisco Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay       Armijo Campground is a great location to camp, and El Morro National Monument is a brilliant local destination. One of the main traits of the surroundings of Sawmill Pond is Mangas Mountain, and Bear Well Spring is a splendid local attraction. Summertime at Sawmill Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is                  down throughout the winter temperatures at Sawmill Pond plunge into the 10's.
