     Santiago Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Having a pleasant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is painless. You'll hit upon a stunning lake called Bancos Lake near Santiago Pond, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Wolf Creek. A good close by hotel is Best Western Jicarilla Inn, and camping is available at Happy Camper RV Park. A great place to camp here at Santiago Pond is Buzzard Park Campground, and you could always discover  
   La Chamisalosa Canyon.
Summertime highs at Santiago Pond usually tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Santiago Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene sites, why not have a look at Ed Ladd Lake right next door to Santiago Pond, and there's whitewater on Navajo River for all you
 
               thrill seekers. What a place this is for outdoors folks. After a long day outdoors Keyah Grande Resort is a tremendous place to spend a night or two.
Santiago Pond is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. It is very dehydrated here at Santiago Pond commonly; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is June.

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
