If you are in Eddy county it's always a good idea to stop by Sandia. If you're here, you might as well check out Lawyer Canyon; you can go for a hike on the Ussery Trail. All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Sandia get into the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Sandia. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay

| | Whites City Resort is a tremendous choice, and there's fine hiking along the Golden Stairway Trail. Stay the night at Queen Store Cafe and RV Park; a beautiful lake like Texas Hill Lake is a glorious site to visit. Lakes are such calm places, why not go to Hearn right next door to Sandia, and delightful hiking is available along the Double Trail. Sandia is frequently a pretty dried out place; August is when you get the most rain here while March is ordinarily the driest month. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place!
