Sandia gets very little rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is March. All through the summertime here at Sandia, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at Sandia dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Lawyer Canyon is       a fine site to stop at close by, and the Ussery Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. There is a perfect hiking trail close to Sandia called the Double Trail; camping at Queen Store Cafe and RV Park is always a pleasant experience.
