If you are traveling by, why not stop by Sandia. Summertime highs at Sandia ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Sandia are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Golden Stairway Trail; going for a hike on the Double Trail is always a great adventure. There is a tremendous hiking trail next to Sandia called

| | the Ussery Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Queen Store Cafe and RV Park is a great location to camp. Sandia gets very little rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and March is when it's the driest. Since you're here at Sandia why not explore Lawyer Canyon, and a fine nearby hotel is Whites City Resort.
