Sure, Gardenia Lake is near Salt Lake; camping is available at Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There is a perfect hiking trail near Salt Lake called the Santa Fe Trail, as expected you could also explore Deep Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Summertime highs at Salt Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down       into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Salt Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. A tour to Fort Union National Monument is recommended, and camping at Cathedral Rock Campground is always a delightful experience. Around Salt Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture.
