Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sacramento Mountains. The peak of High Mesa can be made out from Ruidoso Reservoir, and not far from Ruidoso Reservoir you obtain some nice water scenery at Alto Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Ruidoso Reservoir is generally a rather waterless location; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here while April is generally the driest month.       This lake is so wonderful. Airplane Canyon is close to Ruidoso Reservoir and is positively a delightful place to go to, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Perk Ridge Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Sacramento Mountains. Man, is there lots of cool things to do in the vicinity of Ruidoso Reservoir. Ruidoso Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bonito Campground is a great local campground, and on a fine day you can take                  a hike along the Dry Mills Trail. For the period of the summer at Ruidoso Reservoir highs are mostly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's while Ruidoso Reservoir nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Hit the slopes at Ski Apache in the vicinity; a tremendous spot to camp here at Ruidoso Reservoir is Bonito Hollow RV Park and Campground. If you need a spot to stay Hawthorn Suites Golf & Convention Resort - Ruidoso is a great choice; don't leave Ruidoso Reservoir without first paying a visit to Bog Spring. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Sacramento Mountains.
