This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Jicarilla Inn, and you can go for a hike on the San Pedro Mountain Trail. Not much rain falls here at Rucker Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain; June is the month with the least moisture. Summer at Rucker Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. The winter       comes with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Rucker Lake plunge into the 0's. All year is a nice time in the San Juan Mountains if you love the outdoors. Going for a hike on the San Jose Trail is always a delightful adventure; nearby you stumble on the River Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
