If you are in Taos county it's always a good idea to stop by Romero Lake. Not much rainfall falls here at Romero Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The vista of pretty Cerro Picacho near Romero Lake is magnificent; on a good day you can take a hike along the West Fork Angostura Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Romero Lake while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Near Romero Lake you hit upon the North End Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and if you need a place to stay Taos - Days Inn is a great choice. You'll meet a lot of folks from Taos here, and do go to Las Lagunas, it's a gorgeous
lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Taos; pleasant skiing awaits you at Sipapu Ski. Just can't get enough of Romero Lake. There's so much to do here at Romero Lake that you need
to camp here for a while, Duran Canyon Campground is a nice site for that, and Loring Spring is a wonderful local attraction.
