What a nice lake Rip Lake is. The Summit Trail offers hiking at its best, and camping at Rip Lake is great fun, Mountain High RV Park is a great local campground. Rip Lake is right by the Mitten Bar Trail, and Rip Lake is a perfect place to camp, Baca Campground is a perfect place. During the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 90's at Rip Lake. | | winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Rip Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Antelope Lake is in the neighborhood of Rip Lake. Rip Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated frequently; the month with most of the rain is August, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rip Lake; Capitan Peak Trail is a pleasant local trail; after a long day outdoors Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn is a wonderful location to spend a night or two.
