This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Dry warm beds await you at Las Vegas Super 8 Motel, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Riner Lake; Santa Fe Trail is a great local trail. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Lots of folks from Las Vegas come to Riner Lake. There's some flowing water nearby, Rito Cebolla is a stream       you can explore while you're here; Fort Union National Monument is a very fine spot to have a look at. So much cool stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just amazing. Nearby lakes? Sure, La Cueva Lake is close to Riner Lake, and Riner Lake is a tremendous site to visit for more than one day, Trails End RV Park is a tremendous site to camp nearby. Riner Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Good hiking is available along the                  Gascon Trail; if you've had enough of Riner Lake, Shufeldt Lake is nearby. Riner Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is January. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Riner Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Riner Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
