  Red Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Valley of Fires is a fine spot to camp nearby. You might want to pay a visit to Ancho Gulch since you're here at Red Lake. Hit the slopes at Ski Apache close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Red Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mountain Springs Ranch Recreational Vehicle Park.
Red Lake is pretty dried out generally. August is when you get the most rain here, and April on the
    other hand is the driest. Through the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Red Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Red Lake.
