The beauty of Laguna de las Ranas is reason enough to stop by. At Laguna de las Ranas you don’t see much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest of the months is April. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You can run the rapids of Rio Ojo Caliente right next door to Laguna de las Ranas, and there are plenty of people from Espanola here at Laguna de las Ranas.

Ranas. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Laguna de las Ranas truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Hiking along the Apache Trail is pleasant fun; camping at Canjilon Creek Campground
is always a brilliant experience. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Laguna de las Ranas get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Laguna de las Ranas dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
