    Beautiful Quemado Lake has much to offer visitors. Quemado Lake is mostly a pretty dried out place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is April. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the San Francisco Mountains. Quemado Lake is next to Sawmill Canyon which is absolutely worth taking a look at; a visit to Calley Spring will fill your soul with great feelings.

   El Morro National Monument is worthwhile; here at Quemado Lake you can make out Escondido Mesa. So much exciting stuff to do here at Quemado Lake, too pleasant to be true. There's so much to do here at Quemado Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Quemado Lake Campground is a delightful place for that; there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Escondido Trail. For the period of the months of summer highs here at Quemado Lake reach the 80's.  
               When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are generally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Quemado Lake.
This lake is one of the great places here in the San Francisco Mountains. Quemado Lake is close to Quemado Dam which is a pretty site definitely worth stopping at; if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Sawmill Camp Trail. Having a great time in the San Francisco Mountains is easy. Quemado Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Armijo Campground is a great local campground; the Leslie Spring Trail is a glorious hiking trail nearby.
