Poker Lake is a brilliant site to camp, Baca Campground is a brilliant site, and hiking along the Mitten Bar Trail is splendid fun. Poker Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month of the year is January. A magnificent place to explore in close proximity to Poker Lake is East Lucero Canyon; do take a hike on the Summit Trail. During the warm days       of summer highs here at Poker Lake get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Poker Lake through the winter regularly dip into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Mountain High RV Park is a perfect campground here, and Antelope Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn is a great place to get some rest, and Poker Lake is right by the Capitan Peak Trail.
