Do stop by Pioneer Lake while you're in this part of New Mexico. Pioneer Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and February on the other hand is the driest. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. All year is a great time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you love the outdoors. Twining Blue Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Ski Rio, and lots of people from Taos come here. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Pioneer Lake, for example
Fawn Lakes; Rio Grande is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. Throughout the summer months highs here at Pioneer Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in
the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Pioneer Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. So many amusing things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too perfect to be true. Hiking along the Number 3 Lift Trail
is good fun. There's so much to do here at Pioneer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fawn Lakes Campground is a splendid place for that. The slopes of Red River are so inviting noone can resist. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Pioneer Lake has to offer, you can camp at Elephant Rock Campground.
