If you are in Catron county it's always a good idea to stop by Patterson Lake. Patterson Lake is located in the San Francisco Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Sawmill Camp Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Paterson Spring is a fine local attraction. All our national parks are tremendous places to visit, and Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is no exception.

| | Francisco Mountains is simple. Patterson Lake is right by the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail; if you came to camp Quemado Lake Campground is a tremendous place to do that. Hiking along the Leslie Spring Trail is great fun, and you might also want to pay a visit to Dark Canyon since you're here at Patterson Lake. highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Patterson Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
Patterson Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during August while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
