Silver Drip Trail
 | 14 miles away Silver Drip trail is no longer maintained. The historic Silver Drip Trail is not located in the San Francisco Mountains. The area is often not suitable for winter backpacking. Ben Lilly Campground is a considerable distance away from the remains of Silver Drip Trail. The Whitewater ??Campground?? has become the Whitewater Picnic Ground. There is no camping allowed at the Whitewater Picnic Ground....The Silver Drip is a very hard to find and hard to follow trail. It has been abandoned for decades. I don't recommend the average hiker should walk this trail.... |
Mineral Creek Trail
 | 18 miles away One of my favorite hikes in the world. Unfortunately, a major flood occurred in Mineral Creek Canyon in 2008, leaving many deadfalls and logjams to make hiking a little more difficult. On a positive note, the canyon is still as beautiful as ever, with steep, nearly vertical walls, clear water and many different types of birds present.... |
