    If you are in this part of New Mexico make sure to pay a visit to Lake Number One. All through the warmest time of the year at Lake Number One highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Number One are in the-10's. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Red River; on a great day you can take a hike along  
   the Bernal Trail. If you love the outdoors, you'll love Lake Number One.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Potato Patch Campground is a tremendous campground nearby; dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Eagle Nest. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side trip to East Fork Costilla Creek, and Ski Rio is a very popular ski area in close proximity.
So many fun things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, not
 
               enough time. Best Western River's Edge is a wonderful place to get some rest; if you came for an overnight stay McCrystal Creek Campground is a delightful location to camp. Lake Number One is pretty waterless mostly; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January.
