Around Nichols Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls during August while February is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Nichols Dam is not far at all from Nichols Reservoir; Ski Santa Fe is a great local ski area. Camping is available at Tesuque Pueblo RV Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Saint Johns       Trail. From Nichols Reservoir you obtain a wonderful sight of Atalaya Mountain, and a visit to Aztec Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings. Having a great time at Nichols Reservoir is simple. Bishop's Lodge is a glorious site to get some rest; a round of golf at nearby Santa Fe Country Club is a great way to kill some time. Looking for some flowing water? Try Aztec Springs Creek, and the Atalaya Trail offers hiking at its best. If you came for                  an overnight stay Rancheros Campground is a good site to camp; dry warm beds await you at Fort Marcy Hotel Suites. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Nichols Reservoir reach the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's with temperatures at Nichols Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Nichols Reservoir you will meet lots of folks from nearby Santa Fe; Nichols Reservoir is right by the Atalaya Trail. So much amusing stuff close to Nichols Reservoir, completely astonishing. A visit to Bandelier National Monument is recommended.
