Morphy Lake is always a pleasure to visit. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Morphy Lake reach the 80's; the nighttime is a little cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Morphy Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. You definitely should fancy Morphy Lake. hike along the West Fork Angostura Trail, and after a long day outdoors Las Vegas Super 8 Motel is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Morphy Lake you obtain some great water scenery at Morphy Dam, and hey, Rito Garcia is a pleasant local stream.
