All through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Morphy Lake, and the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Morphy Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Around Morphy Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain,       and the driest month is February. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Gascon Trail, and a picturesque lake like Laguna de Agua is a pleasant spot to go to. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. Yeah, come up here to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains for a great time. Going for a hike along the Divide Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and Rito Garcia is one of the                  streams close by that might be worth going to. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Camping at Morphy Lake is great fun, Duran Canyon Campground is a great local campground; not far from Morphy Lake you obtain some wonderful water scenery at Morphy Dam. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Sipapu Ski; dry warm beds await you at Las Vegas Super 8 Motel. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Morphy Lake you can take a hike along the West Fork Angostura Trail, and why not camp at Pendaries RV Resort while you're here at Morphy Lake.
