Go for a hike on the Rocky Canyon Trail, and you can stay the night at Casas Adobes Subdivision. Mimbres Lake gets very little precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and April is when it's the driest. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is bountiful here in the Black Range. Holiday Inn Express Silver City, Nm is a brilliant place to get some rest; going for a hike on the Old Government Trail is always a       perfect adventure. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Mimbres Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Railroad Campground is a perfect spot for that, and North Seco Spring is a glorious local attraction. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Mimbres Lake while night lows are regularly in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Mimbres Lake temperatures drop to the 10's.                  Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. The peak of McKnight Mountain can be distinguished from Mimbres Lake, and don't leave Mimbres Lake without first going for a hike along the Burnt Mountain Trail.
