    Go to Middle Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Middle Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The Lost Lake Trail is a great hiking trail next to Middle Lake. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Places like Agua Fria Park are splendid to stop by, and Ojo de Maiz is an inspiring place to take a look at while you're here.
If the weather is great here at Middle
 
   Lake, you can go for a hike along the Burnt Ridge Trail, and if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Middle Lake you can take a hike along the Kit Carson Trail; after a long day outdoors Angel Fire Resort is a splendid place to spend a night or two. It is very dry here at Middle Lake ordinarily; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January.
 
               Summertime highs at Middle Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's with night lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Middle Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Middle Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Cathedral Rock Campground is a tremendous location to camp nearby, and a lake close by is Horse Shoe Lake. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Everybody close by loves skiing at Angel Fire, and if the weather is pretty, you obtain a great view of Apache Peak from Middle Lake.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. The views at Fort Union National Monument will blow your mind. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Middle Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park. Getting to Ojo de Maiz Creek from Middle Lake is easy, and if you get bored of Middle Lake you could also explore nearby Agua Fria Lake.
