What a nice lake Middle Fork Lake is. Be careful coming to Middle Fork Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling near Middle Fork Lake is Red River, and Long Canyon is a wonderful place to go to. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Go for a hike on the Number 3 Lift Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Italianos Campground is a glorious

Middle Fork Lake is pretty dried out mostly; the month with most of the rain is August while February is commonly the driest month. People from Taos love to come to Middle Fork Lake, needless to say you could also stop by Lost Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Middle Fork Lake. Near Middle Fork Lake you come across the Twining
Blue Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Taos. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lost Lake Trail is always a good adventure; Bull-of-the-Woods Mountain
is clearly visible from Middle Fork Lake. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There's always Lost Lake Dam to stop at near Middle Fork Lake, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Eagle
Nest is a glorious site to spend a night or two. Summertime at Middle Fork Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's. All through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's
while the cold winter nights at Middle Fork Lake are in the 0's. La Cal Basin is a wonderful place here at Middle Fork Lake, and Red River is a very popular ski area close at hand. A splendid nearby hotel is Best Western River's Edge,
and don't forget to take a great little spree to West Fork Red River. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Horseshoe Lake is right next door to Middle Fork Lake, and camping is available at Twining Campground.
