Do stop by Mexican Lake while you're in this part of New Mexico. This lake is so wonderful. Temple Peak is clearly visible from Mexican Lake, and a visit to Capulin Volcano National Monument is recommended. A perfect site to camp here at Mexican Lake is Capulin RV Park and Camp, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Dipping Vat Spring. Mexican Lake is pretty dry commonly; July is the wettest month with most rain; December is when it's the driest.

| | High temperatures at Mexican Lake all through the summertime are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Mexican Lake are in the 0's. Holiday Inn Express Raton, Nm is a delightful location to get some rest; Spring Canyon is a great location to spend some time.
