    If you are traveling by, why not stop by McEwan Lake. Summer at McEwan Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at McEwan Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to McEwan Lake? Bear Canyon Lake is in close proximity, and Upper Rio Penasco Site One Dam is not far at  
   all from McEwan Lake. Lodge at Cloudcroft is a good place to get some rest, and Allen Canyon is undeniably a magnificent location to go to.
The Sacramento Mountains scenery is always beautiful. McEwan Lake is pretty waterless ordinarily; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is April. So much cool stuff to do here at McEwan Lake, too delightful to be true. After a long day outdoors Cloudcroft Hotel
 
               is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and Allen Spring is a perfect local attraction.
You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Sacramento Mountains. You're in all probability into lakes, Curtis Canyon Dam is one of those close by. Going for a hike along the Osha Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and you can stay the night at Cool Pines RV Park. That right there is heaps of fun things already but it goes on, the Sacramento Mountains has it all. There's so much to do here at McEwan Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sacramento Mountain Retreat is a wonderful location for that, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Alamogordo here.

The person in the Office said they had just stocked the lake the night before.  When we went fishing that day, we couldn't catch any fish, as a matter of fact there were about 30 other people around the lake, aside from the 8 people in our party fishing at different parts of the lake.  Nobody caught anything during the whole time there.  Very Disappointed.  Bathrooms are really nasty, with graffiti everywhere and trash everywhere.  Very poorly kept campground. ...
