It's always fun to stop by McEwan Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sacramento Mountains. Just can't get enough of the Sacramento Mountains. Allen Canyon is a wonderful location to go to close by; a spree to McEwan Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Allen Spring.

| | stop by. Don't leave McEwan Lake without first going for a hike along the Osha Trail, and a tremendous place to camp here at McEwan Lake is Cool Pines RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. Cloudcroft Hotel is a brilliant location to get some rest, also Upper Rio Penasco Site One Dam is worth stopping at since you're here.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to McEwan Lake. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in | |

the 40's with temperatures at McEwan Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Sacramento Mountains. A magnificent close by hotel is Lodge at Cloudcroft, and camping
is available at Sacramento Mountain Retreat. It is very dry here at McEwan Lake usually; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most while April is commonly the driest month.
