At McAllister Lake you don’t see much precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. A spree to Fort Union National Monument is recommended, and McAllister Lake is a great location to camp, Las Vegas Koa Kampground is a great location. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is bountiful here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn       Las Vegas is a glorious site to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Vegas RV and Storage. A golf course close to McAllister Lake is New Mexico Highlands University Golf Course, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LAS VEGAS. So many entertaining things to do at McAllister Lake, so little time. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pecos                  River, and you're sure to stumble upon some wonderful folks from Las Vegas here. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. During the months of summer highs here at McAllister Lake get into the 70's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's.
