    Go to Mangas Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Mangas Lake is a location that is relatively dried out generally; July is when you get the most rain here; April is when it's the driest. Mangas Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Rose Valley RV Ranch is a good place to camp nearby It's always wonderful to visit East Prong Spring. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Gila River, and people from Silver City love to come here.

   Gila River is so much fun, and a glorious close by hotel is Econo Lodge Silver City. Blacksmith Canyon is near Mangas Lake and is a great place, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Snow Creek Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area near Mangas Lake has to offer. Burro Mountain Homestead is a fine campground nearby, and if you need a location to stay Silver City Super 8 Motel is a brilliant choice.
This lake is so
 
               wonderful. All through the long summer days at Mangas Lake highs are usually in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Mangas Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is recommended, and going for a hike along the Sapillo Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
