Laguna Madrid is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A short spree to Flavjo Spring is always worthwhile, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Encino Trail. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Pajarito Mountain, and if you come at the right time of year, Rio Chama offers some delightful whitewater. Laguna Madrid is one of the lakes here

| | in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. At Laguna Madrid you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest of the months is April. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Rio Puerco Campground is a fine local campground, and hiking along the Ojitas Polvadera Trail is glorious fun. All through the summer months at Laguna Madrid highs are generally in the 80's. | |

During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Laguna Madrid overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Laguna Madrid is
a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Seven Springs Campground is a perfect location to camp nearby, and since you're here, you might as well stop at Valle de la Grulla. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await
you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Los Alamos, Nm. After a long day outdoors The Abiquiu Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and Laguna de la Sierra is a wonderful lake close by. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to
do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Laguna Madrid. Laguna Madrid is right by the Puerco Espin Trail, and lakes are such serene places, why not have a look at Laguna de los Pinos.

This trail runs from Polvadera Peak to Chicoma Mountain (Rio Arriba's Highest) ...and is in the JEMEZ MOUNTAINS..NOT the San Juan. It refers to Abiquiu lots..so I assume it is.
