After a long day outdoors The Abiquiu Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Rio Puerco Campground. What a spot this is for outdoors people. The Encino Trail is a fine hiking trail in the neighborhood of Laguna Madrid, and a delightful place nearby is Valle de la Grulla. At Laguna       Madrid you don’t see much rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; April meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Near Laguna Madrid you hit upon the Puerco Espin Trail which is a great hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Los Alamos, Nm. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Laguna Madrid has to offer, you can camp at Seven Springs Campground,                  and gorgeous scenery and delightful skiing is what you obtain at Pajarito Mountain. Going for a hike on the Ojitas Polvadera Trail is always a pleasant adventure; you can run the rapids of Rio Chama. Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Don't leave Laguna Madrid without first paying a visit to Flavjo Spring.
