Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lucero Lakes while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lucero Lakes temperatures dip to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Lamy Peak is easy to spot from Lucero Lakes, and Hopewell Lake Campground is a great campground here. There's no way anyone can get bored here       in the San Juan Mountains. A great place for whitewater paddling close to Lucero Lakes is San Antonio River, and you're sure to run into some nice people from Espanola here. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio de los Pinos. Lucero Lakes is located in the San Juan Mountains.
