Be careful coming to Lucero Lakes, you might not ever wanna go back home again. During your tour to Lucero Lakes you'll meet some people from Espanola for sure. The peak of Lamy Peak can be seen from Lucero Lakes, and Lucero Lakes is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Hopewell Lake Campground is a wonderful local campground. High temperatures at Lucero Lakes during the summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs

| | through the wintertime are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lucero Lakes are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Rio de los Pinos; a splendid spot to camp here at Lucero Lakes is Rio De Los Pinos Campground. Lucero Lakes is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You're probably addicted to lakes, North Cisneros is one of those nearby, and Narrow Gauge RR Inn is a magnificent spot | |

to get some rest. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. San Antonio River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. Lakes are nice; South Cisneros is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lucero Lakes.
At Lucero Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain; May is when it's the driest.
