    If you are in this part of New Mexico make sure to pay a visit to Lost Lake Reservoir. During the warm days of summer at Lost Lake Reservoir temperatures are typically in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Lost Lake Reservoir dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Lost Lake Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Mesa Verde.
 
   If you need a site to stay Cortez-Days Inn is a great choice; Lost Lake Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ship Rock Campground is a great local campground. Be careful coming to the Mesa Verde, you might not ever wanna go home again. There is a glorious hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lost Lake Reservoir called the Petroglyph Point Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit San Juan River. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike  
               on the Ute Springs Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and the Rock Springs Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by.
Not much precipitation falls here at Lost Lake Reservoir; during August this area sees the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
