Do stop by Lost Lake while you're in this part of New Mexico. Lost Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Capitan Peak Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and if you came for an overnight stay Baca Campground is a delightful spot to camp. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Lost Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures

| | are in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lost Lake. There is a nice hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lost Lake called the Whiskey Trail. Lost Lake is not the only spot nearby, Galles Lake is a nearby lake, and a great nearby hotel is Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn. You could also stop at Circle Diamond Lake since you're here at Lost Lake; it's close by, and why not camp at Deer Crossing RV Park while you're here at Lost Lake.
