Why not stop by Lost Lake if you're passing through these parts. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is plentiful here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. A good site to camp here at Lost Lake is Twining Campground; there's delightful hiking along the Twining Blue Lake Trail. Don't leave Lost Lake without first going for a hike along the Lost Lake Trail, and there's always Lost Lake Dam to stop by near Lost Lake. Lost Lake gets very little rain; the month with

| | most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Sawmill Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to, and you can hit the slopes at Taos in the neighborhood. Why not camp at Italianos Campground since you're here at Lost Lake. Western River's Edge, and from Lost Lake you get a pleasant vista of Fraser Mountain. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Red River is a great whitewater spot near Lost Lake; Red River
has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Summertime highs at Lost Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Throughout the
winter highs are in the 30's while Lost Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Horseshoe Lake is a magnificent lake in the vicinity of Lost Lake, and Lost Lake is not far at all from Taos. And if that's
not sufficient, there's heaps more to do close to Lost Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Lake; Number 3 Lift Trail is a delightful local trail. This lake is so wonderful. You have to definitely dedicate some time to
La Cal Basin while you're here at Lost Lake; if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a pleasant choice.
