Around Lopez Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most; June on the other hand is the driest. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan Mountains. Buzzard Park Campground is a tremendous campground here, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Piedra River. Lopez Lake is located       in the San Juan Mountains. High temperatures at Lopez Lake through the long summer days are in the 80's, and the overnight is a bit cooler of course, ordinarily in the 40's. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lopez Lake sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Laguna Seca, and Best Western                  Jicarilla Inn is a brilliant location to get some rest.
