A beautiful lake like Sacramento Lake right next door to Lightning Lake is a good place to pop by, and this is a popular spot for people from Alamogordo. At Lightning Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is April. So much enjoyable stuff close to Lightning Lake, completely phenomenal. Lightning Lake is a magnificent       place to visit for more than one day, Slide Campground is a magnificent place to camp nearby; if you need a place to stay Cloudcroft Hotel is a nice choice. Lightning Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sacramento Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sacramento Mountains. Harris Canyon is a delightful spot to pop by close by; hiking along the Osha Trail is perfect fun. All through the warm days of summer highs                  here at Lightning Lake reach the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Lightning Lake. All the outdoors fun things in the Sacramento Mountains will keep you coming back time and again. Stay the night at Aspen Campground; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Timberon Golf Course. Dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Cloudcroft; Hubbell Spring is a wonderful location to stop by while you're at Lightning Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
