If you are traveling by, why not stop by Lightning Lake. Throughout the summer months at Lightning Lake highs are regularly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. good experience. If you need a location to stay Cloudcroft Hotel is a pleasant choice; at Lightning Lake you always meet someone from Alamogordo. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Lightning Lake and you like golf, you
can take a look at Timberon Golf Course, and a splendid place to camp here at Lightning Lake is Aspen Campground. That right there is a heap of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Sacramento Mountains has it all. A trip to
White Sands National Monument is worthwhile, and a journey to Lightning Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Hubbell Spring.
