     This lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Beaver Lake near Las Ranas Lake, it's a scenic lake; the Fish Creek Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Las Ranas Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Las Ranas Lake tend to be in the  
   0's. This lake is so wonderful.
There's no way somebody can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. After a long day outdoors Branding Iron Motel is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and Sky Mountain Resort is a great campground nearby. So much entertaining stuff to do at Las Ranas Lake, so little time. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Chama, and Chromo Mountain is a peak you can observe from Las Ranas Lake. If you need a spot to
 
               stay Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a great choice, and you'll discover a lovely lake called Boyer Lake.
This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Yep, outdoors amusing things truly is bountiful here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Get drenched paddling on Rio Chama; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the V Rock Trail. At Las Ranas Lake you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; June on the other hand is the driest.
Twin Rivers Trailer Park is a magnificent local campground, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Leche Creek Trail.
