    If you like lakes and you're in this part of New Mexico you can check out Kiowa Lake. Kiowa Mountain is clearly visible from Kiowa Lake, and San Antonio River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool things just keep reading. Be careful coming to the San Juan Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Cleveland Gulch is a good place to look at, and lots of people from Espanola come here.
 
   It is very waterless here at Kiowa Lake commonly; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while May is usually the driest month. Kiowa Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan Mountains. Summertime highs at Kiowa Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows at Kiowa Lake during the winter regularly dip into the 0's.

               lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Kiowa Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hopewell Lake Campground is a delightful location for that, and in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Ojo Caliente. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at McIntyre Spring. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kiowa Lake has to offer, you can camp at El Ritito Campground.
