This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. McIntyre Spring is always fun to check out; get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Ojo Caliente. Now, you may think that's heaps       but there's even more cool things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A wonderful place to camp here at Kiowa Lake is Hopewell Lake Campground; in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Abeyta Lake is just a very short distance away. Around Kiowa Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is May.
