This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This spot, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Raton NM is a good place to spend a night or two, and there are other sites here than King Lake, for example Capulin Lake. Lakeside Lake is a tremendous lake near King Lake, and the panorama of beautiful Melon Mesa is nice. Getting       to Chacon Arroyo from King Lake is simple; King Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Capulin RV Park and Camp is a glorious local campground. During the days of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at King Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to King Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Capulin Volcano National Monument                  is a very perfect place to check out right next door to King Lake, and a good spot to camp here at King Lake is Capulin & Recreational Vehicle Park & Camp.
