If you like lakes and you're in this part of New Mexico you can check out Jose Vigil Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Jose Vigil Lake gets very little precipitation; all through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Embudo; dry warm beds await you at Encantado
