at Taos; Indian Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Duran Canyon Campground is a fine local campground. There's whitewater on Rio Pueblo de Taos for all you adrenaline kick people, and on a great day you can take a hike
along the Comales Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Indian Lake is in the neighborhood of Agua Sarca Canyon which is certainly worth going to, and let's not forget Knob Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while here.
Around Indian Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
