During the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Huero Lake. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows at Huero Lake throughout the winter regularly fall into the 0's. This place, Huero Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Sagebrush Inn is a tremendous site to get some rest, and Cerro Olla is charming and can be seen       from here. Having a great time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains is trouble-free. There are great places to explore along the Kit Carson Trail; Huero Lake is not far at all from Taos. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Going for a hike on the North End Trail is always a great adventure. Head up to Sipapu Ski and strap some skis to your feet, and camping at Duran Canyon Campground is always a great experience.                  This lake is so wonderful. The snow is delightful at Angel Fire; nearby you stumble on the West Fork Angostura Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. If you need a place to stay Angel Fire Resort is a great choice, and Huero Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Upper La Junta Campground is a great local campground. At Huero Lake you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls all through August; the driest month is February.
