If only every location had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great world it would be. A wonderful sight of beautiful Spruce Hill is available from Horse Shoe Lake, and if you have the time, Fort Union National Monument is a national park worth a visit. Agua Fria Park is a wonderful site any time of year, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Horse Shoe Lake; Kit Carson Trail is a fine local trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

| | Middle Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and a pleasant place to camp here at Horse Shoe Lake is Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Burnt Ridge Trail, and Resort Properties of Angel Fire is a pleasant site to get some rest. It is very arid here at Horse Shoe Lake usually; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is January. Dry warm beds await you at Angel | |

frequently reach the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, regularly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Horse Shoe Lake through the winter typically drop into the-10's.
