    Go to Horse Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the San Juan Mountains has to offer. While you're here at Horse Lake, you could also take a look at picturesque Horse Lake; Horse Lake Mesa is clearly visible from Horse Lake. Rio Chama is a good whitewater spot close to Horse Lake, and why not camp at Herron Store if you're here at Horse Lake. Horse Lake gets very little rainfall; the month of August  
   is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is June.
If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Navajo River, and Holiday Inn Express Pagosa Springs, Co is a splendid site to get some rest. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Horse Lake. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the
 
               sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Horse Lake descend into the 0's.
Having a great time in the San Juan Mountains is simple. Camping is available at Twin Rivers Trailer Park, and there are glorious places to explore along the Leche Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll fancy Horse Lake. Do pop by Horse Lake Dam if you're here at Horse Lake, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Jicarilla Inn is a great choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Horse Lake without first going for a hike along the Hart Trail; while you're here, you might as well stop by Boiler Canyon.
