Horse Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Francisco Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Gila River, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the West Fork Trail. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool things to do in the San Francisco Mountains. If you need a place to stay Silver City Super 8 Motel is a pleasant choice; since you're here you can       take a hike along the Hanging Rock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Fivemile Creek is a perfect local stream; do take a hike on the Mogollon Creek Trail. Through the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 90's at Horse Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while Horse Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's. Brown Canyon is close                  to Horse Lake and is a great site.
