This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. All through the summer months here at Heron Reservoir, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Heron Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 0's.       Yeah, come up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a nice time. Best Western Jicarilla Inn is a fine site to get some rest; if you're here you can take a hike along the Hart Trail. It is very arid here at Heron Reservoir typically; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; June is when it's the driest. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Heron Reservoir rules! Some close by water includes Horse Lake Creek. This lake                  is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Rio Chama, and you can stay the night at Herron Store. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Heron Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Stone House Lodge; at Heron Dam close to Heron Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see.
