Best Western Jicarilla Inn is a magnificent location to get some rest, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Rio Chama. All through the long summer days at Heron Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Heron Reservoir temperatures fall to the       0's. It is very dehydrated here at Heron Reservoir mostly; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while June is regularly the driest month. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is bountiful here in the San Juan Mountains. Heron Dam is not far at all from Heron Reservoir, and going for a hike on the Hart Trail is always a perfect adventure. Heron Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the San Juan Mountains.
