So much exciting stuff near Guaje Reservoir, clearly phenomenal. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Chama, and going for a hike on the Mitchell Trail is always a nice adventure. Guaje Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Do stop by Laguna Madrid close to Guaje Reservoir, it's a pretty lake; you're sure to stumble upon some cheerful people from Los Alamos here.

| | Through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Guaje Reservoir. Throughout the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Guaje Reservoir dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. the destinations near Guaje Reservoir that are delightful to go to, and you'll come across a stunning lake called Los Alamos Reservoir. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If you're a golfer then a splendid
nearby course is Los Alamos County Government Recreation Division Golf Course, and a fine place close by is Vallecito de los Caballos. This lake is so wonderful. There are great places to look at along the Caballo Trail, and if the
weather is wonderful, you obtain a good panorama of Caballo Mountain from Guaje Reservoir. A good place for whitewater paddling next to Guaje Reservoir is Rio Grande; dry warm beds await you at Ashley Hotel and Suites. Yep, outdoors
cool stuff to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Guaje Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites Los Alamos is a nice location to spend a night or two. And that's not everything there is to do here in the San Juan
and Jemez Mountains. Go for a hike on the Guaje Canyon Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Juniper Campground is a tremendous spot to camp. Not much rain falls here at Guaje Reservoir; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.

This feature can be seen from the parking lot at the end of the road in the quality fishing area below Navajo Dam NM. Drive beyond Cottonwood campground to the end of the road, Simon Canyon is on your left when entering the parking lot. The arch is on the skyline on the far side of Simon Canyon.... |
Los Alamos Reservoir
 | Los Alamos is on the western edge of the Jemez Mountains, not the San Juans. The reservoir has been closed to the public since the Cerro Grande Fire in May of 2000. The fire and the flooding that followed did extensive damage to the landscape and facilities.... |
