    It's always fun to stop by Guaje Reservoir. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Guaje Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is good on Rio Chama. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande, and dropping by Bandelier National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Guaje Reservoir and you like golf, you can take a look  
   at Los Alamos County Government Recreation Division Golf Course, and Laguna Madrid is a nearby lake that you could explore.
If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Go for a hike on the Caballo Trail, and why not camp at Juniper Campground if you're here at Guaje Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. There are great spots to discover along the Mitchell Trail; if you're here, you could also check out scenic Los Alamos
 
               Reservoir. This place, Guaje Reservoir, it completely has so much outdoors amusing stuff. A tremendous spot to visit near Guaje Reservoir is Vallecito de los Caballos, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Pajarito Mountain is quite near.
Guaje Reservoir gets very little rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This spot, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. After a long day outdoors Ashley Hotel and Suites is a tremendous location to spend a night or two; Las Conchas Campground is a perfect local campground. High temperatures at Guaje Reservoir throughout the days of summer are in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; night lows at Guaje Reservoir during the winter ordinarily plunge into the 10's.
Guaje Reservoir is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Don't leave Guaje Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Guaje Canyon Trail, and the vista of gorgeous Caballo Mountain is good. While you're here at Guaje Reservoir you will meet lots of folks from close by Los Alamos, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Los Alamos, Nm is a good site to get some rest.

Los Alamos is on the western edge of the Jemez Mountains, not the San Juans. The reservoir has been closed to the public since the Cerro Grande Fire in May of 2000. The fire and the flooding that followed did extensive damage to the landscape and facilities....

If this: Highline Trail re: Rio Arriba County. This trail runs from Polvadera Peak to Chicoma Mountain (Rio Arriba's Highest) ...and is in the JEMEZ MOUNTAINS..NOT the San Juan. It refers to Abiquiu lots..so I assume it is. More infor in July or August when we'll be exploring it!...
